From May 14 to June 22, 2019 I walked across Northern Spain on the ancient pilgrimage trail known as the Camino del Norte. Thirty-seven days, I walked on a personal quest to reconnect with my faith. The last time I had truly felt God present in my life was three years prior, on the same network of trails leading to Santiago de Compostela. I needed to return to where I last felt Him. Over the course of those thirty-seven days, I write a prayer that I felt resonating from the most desperate part of my soul. Each prayer was transcribed onto a postcard from the destination city. An individual postage stamp was placed in the top right corner of each card. The series of prayers were hand delivered to the post office in Santiago de Compostela and ultimately entrusted in the hands of strangers to deliver them back to my home in Iowa. Within weeks, all thirty-seven cards made their journey back home safely into my hands once again.
